YES!! Phew! Glad that is over with! Time for the fishies!!!

For those of you cycling. Be Patient! I thought my cycle would never end! Then today....BOOM! 0 Nitrites! 0 Ammonia!

It took 32 days to cycle my 75 gallon with the fishless method....right on schedule!

Thank you everyone for your help!

    Congratulations!

Fishless cycling my 29 gallon tank as we speak. On day 11, started March 13 but I added the water late at night.

I have been checking my levels everyday and have Ammonia - 4 -5 ppm and Nitrite - 0 ppm. Water temp at 85.8 degrees. Being patient.

Not sure if this part of the process but most of last week the water was somewhat cloudy. Today the water is very clear.

    Thanks!

Bdj470, I would say anything can happen in the tank when you're cycling. Just wait it out though. Since you're doing a fishless cycle, the cloudy water isn't hurting anything.

Congrats to you! I can only hope my tank is cycled soon.... it's been around 50 some days. If something doesn't happen soon... I am going to say screw it and put some fish in.

I don't know if that's a good idea....you'll just end up with dead fish if your nitrites are where I think they are.

Well my nitrites are currently 0.... they were up to .50 but then for some reason dropped to 0. My ammonia isn't dropping and not registering nitrates. So in my opinion it seems that my cycle has started all over again for some reason. If I keep up on water changes with a fish-in cycling they should be fine. I don't know... am going to give it through next week and see if something new starts happening.

    How high is your ammonia?

Your sig says you have another tank. You should be able to cycle quickly using some seeded media. 50 days is way too long to wait when you have another up and running tank.

My ammonia was 2 ppm. It stayed between 2 and 4 ppm for a week or so. Before that it was kind of high because I accidentally added too much. I added part of the bio filter from my 10 gal when I set it up so that's why I can't figure out why it's taking so long. Then when my nitrites dropped to 0 but there are no nitrates and ammonia hasn't dropped to 0 either I was lost!
