What type of test kit do you use?
When the ammonia begins to rise then 60-70% water changes are best. You may end up doing them daily for a while. Prime is a good one to use if you can get it because it goes so far. I go through bottles of aqua plus!lol
I used the packet because it contained the bacterial seeding and didn't want to double up on dechlorinator. I guess I should have just used the two included packets when I added all new water to the new tank but with all the original biomedia I was using having only been 'off line' for maybe 1/2hr I thought adding different conditioners than usual would be potential trouble.

I use the MYDOR test kit.

It might be my imagination but I think my tank looks a tad better already.

I believe you're having a mini spike is all and I think your tank will establish again very quickly. I don't see this as going into a big time full cycling experience again. But for the sake of the fish, a bottle of bac booster should do wonders for you. Good luck.

OK it was my imagination, the tank still is cloudy this morning.

So I'm relegated to "Beginner's Corner"? Pretty sobbering for someone who's kept fish for 30 years.

Tank is crystal clear, ammonia & nitrites don't register and nitrates are 20. Looks like my biological filter has recovered. I did follow your advise using the bac booster, fortunately it just had to re-establish not fully cycle.
