Thread: Blue or brown

  1. Default Blue or brown

A spin from my paint thread.

I have a small handful of paint swatches stuck on the wall to my right and I'm trying to decide on which color to paint the walls. Lowes house brand of paint also has primer in it, so I'm going with them instead of BEHR.

Here are descriptions of what I have stuck on the wall.

One is close to what I have already, so that's out. If you think of beach sand, that is the present color of my walls. Or peer into your fish tank if you use play sand. LOL

Another is white which is my present trim color, so that's out.

I brought home a swatch of various shades of coral which would be nice for a accent, but not on the walls. I'm come in here to get things done sometimes and don't feel like wearing sunglasses just because I walked into the room.

This leaves me with a brown and blue swatch.

The blue is almost periwinkle when sunlight hits it but is doesn't have tons of purple in it.

The brown is a mocha color. My first choice look good in the example room on the BEHR website, but it's really dark in reality.

I like the blue, but I fear that I'll end up with some version of a nautical theme which I'm not against, but it's not what I'm looking for either.

The brown is very earthy and warm, but I don't know if I'll get anything done. Once I add a few shelves which I'm in dire need of and get some plants other than the ones sitting in my tank and I could very well just sit here and rot. LOL

So, what would you do? Popeye or Lumberjack?

Well seeing how I'm married to one who freely gives his opinion all the time, it doesn't phase me any.
