Disaster
It had to happen sometime, somehow. Apparently my 46gal bowfront tank wasn't as well made as others and the bottom seals gave way on it at about 4:30 in the morning. I was alerted to the disaster by the sound of a Koralia running dry. I went into the living room to find the tank half empty and still dripping. My SPS reef has come to a sad end. I probably will not be replacing it as there are too many other needs for the funds right now. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

That's a tough break
Sorry to hear about it.
Can you repair the seal? I've read a few posts in the DIY section on how to replace the seals on a tank (posted by Northernguy I think). Could be a little easier on the funds. If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Oh SW. I am so, so sorry to read this. I know how much time and work you put into your tanks and know it was probably just beautiful. This is terrible news.

Cliff, I may try to repair it as it is one of my favorite tanks, however I will not be setting it back up as a SW tank if I do. Still undecided as to exactly what to do.

Agreed, such a terrible loss. If you could just repair it the livestock could be stored in your other reef for the time being...wouldnt be any cost really since you have all the equipment and such.
