Question about the AC 50.
I have my 55 on one of the metal double stands and I plan to put a small tank on the bottom, like a 29 gallon. Problem is I have a canister filter running on the 55 so I don't have a lot of space between the back of the aquarium and the wall to work with. I believe I have about 3 and a 1/2 inches of room. I really don't want to move the current tank and stand. So I was curious how much of the filter hangs off the back of the aquarium?

That bites. I was curious because on aquariumguys.com it says only 2 1/2 inches of its width is behind the tank.

Its doable with 3 1/2" but you need room above the tank to lift the filter out for maintenance. You also do not want any part of the filter to touch the wall, vibrations are noisy!Water stains are possible too.
If the tank isn't set up yet,dry fit everything first.Ray

Awfully tight spacing. Why don't you just move the stand out from the wall about an inch?

I work in the health care field and understand perfectly. I would still recommend that you find someone to help with this, move it out just an inch or two and you'll be all set!
