Banana plant intervention?
My LFS has decided to sell a few plants, so I bought some on Sunday. I bought a Amazon Sword which has been chewed on by the residents of the tank it came from and a Banana Plant just for something fun. Both plants are presently in the 20 gallon. The Sword will go into the 55 once the damaged leaves either die off or grow out and the Banana plant will stay where it is.
Here's the problem. Everything I've read says that Banana plants should have heart-shaped leaves. Mine are lanky and are not heart-shaped.

My LFS uses R/O water in all their tanks and to the best of my knowledge, does not use ferts so this may explain alot of what this looks the way it does. Also, while one cannot see see them, there is a new leaf growing from the center and it has one long pad at the top of the water line.
Do I trim what is on the plant presently? Leave it alone?
