Deformed guppy
I just wanted to show some photos of some really deformed guppies. I think it is two different guppies. I have seem malformed fish before, but I think this is the worst.

Thanks to the generations of inbreeding this is becoming more and more common. I've noticed quite a few deformed dojo loaches lately as well in the fish stores.
That is a pretty bad looking guppy, I would put the poor girl down.Who is "General Failure" and why is he reading my hard drive?

Cull them. They would never make it in the wild anyway, so its pretty natural.

I saw a lot of swordbearers that looked like that when I was in the pet store today. I bet the breeder has inbreed them to hell. They also only sell males here so I guess the breeder is afraid of competition which I also would be I got 2 USD a piece for them when 100USD is a decent month wages.
He is going to get competition anyway soon enough:-)
But I guess I will have to breed in a few wild swordbearers into the line to get rid of the inbreeding defects first.Do as I say. Not as I do.

First she has been culled. I just wanted to show the photos because that is the most extreme deformity I have seen. Thou I always see kinked spines and other problems with a lot of the commonly bred fish like danios, some of the tetra and barb species and of couse the livebearers. It really makes me hesitant about getting captive bred stock, you never know how much they have been inbred.
