Thread: new 6g tank

Hybrid View

  1. Default new 6g tank

I had an Eclipse 6 that was pretty old- and I just didn't like it. It was home to my Betta, Elvis.

I bought a 6g "Bookshelf" tank from Petco the other day, and just finished setting it up.

I decided to go with a sand substrate- I really wanted to try it so I decided doing so on a small scale would be best. I have never used sand before.

I am really happy with the way it came out. Its actually much cooler in person- the pics do not do it justice.

I switched over the filter that was on the eclipse, and used 1/2 of the water from that tank plus the rocks I had in there. I hope I don't lose my cycle- it was almost complete.

I want to maybe get some pygmy corys for it- if I can find any.

    Here is a pic-

Yeah they are tiny java ferns that are from my big java plant in my 20g. I tied some to the red lava rock and then just anchored the rest w the rocks in that one section. Next trip to a LFS I am going to get some moss for that tank.

    Thanks for the compliments!
