RIP music television

Well as of last week it is official. MTV is no longer associating themselves with music.

IMO someone shoulda shot that horse a long time ago, preferrably BEFORE all the disgusting representations of americans that was reality TV
And....vote or die....no need to attempt to shock or scare the masses into taking part in a voting system that is....not for me to discuss in this post...I'll just say I find flaws in the electoral system.

Having Puff daddy, or P diddily or peepeedoodoo or whatever his name is today screaming at me and trying to sell me Tshirts that say "VOTE OR DIE!" on them is really not the MTV I grew up with.

but it still saddens me a little to see it gone.

Guess I always hoped they would start showing more than 2 videos a week, or at least not show them at 1AM.

Agreed. They havent had any music on there worth mentioning for atleast 10 years. Oh the fond memories of watching music videos and shows pertaining to music...

A lot of companies are "rebranding" It's saddening. I don't know why they can't understand that being what they were made them great... That greatness though is completely lost when you stop being what you initially were!

Music Television is no longer about music. Sort of odd to type that isn't it.

I also agree though, they haven't been about music in a long time.

Next we'll be hearing headlines like: "Tonight on Animal Planet--a look at politics and its impact on religion."

TV reality makes Americans looks like idiots..... women act like stupid, screaming bimpo's and all men gay. I don't know how, when so many viewers oppose the nonsense, that it continues to be stuck in your face every night. It would be nice if our young audiences knew that brains will take you a lot farther in life than silicone implants.

The catch is, tv is about entertainment, and actual, everyday reality isn't really entertaining. Screaming bimbo's and gay drama are like tabloid papers; most folks know better, but they still want to look. If nobody watched to drive the ratings up, advertisers wouldn't finance the shows. I hardly ever watch tv any longer; I spend hours online instead.

I hate reality tv. Makes me sick.. and I have never believed that Americans act like that.. but I guess some people would. Its all the same set of regurgitated puke over and over again.
