Silver Dollars are herbivorous and plant matter is their main meal. Mine had a diet of veggie flakes, blood worms (now and then) and only occassionly regular flake food. Mine also ate cucumber. They will figure out what the cucumber is in time but I think they do better with romane lettuce and spinach. The cukes might be hard for them to eat.

PS.....silver dollars will not eat java moss, java fern or crypts. You may end up having to replace your plants with those listed. Onion plants are safe, too.

well right now they are slowly eating my swords (i have four in there and they grow wicked fast so i'm not worried about that really) but my SD's are eating blood worms every now and then, brine shrimp and flake food... just cycled with the shrimp and blood worms maybe once a week

Try slicing the cukes thin and cut in half. You can also try zuchinni(do the same as for the cukes), peas, dark leafy greens(these are best, they have the most nutrition) like collard greens, mustard greens, tuniup greens and kale, squash, melons, mangos and lots of other fruits and veggies. Stay away from iceburg lettuce.
