newbie question

I'm new to the forum and do not yet know my way around the AC website. My question is:
When I post a question, say, about the care of my fish, am I supposed to choose a topic for it to post under? I notice that my questions show up under the members category.
If I am doing this wrong, what can I do to correct it?

In the menu bar to the right, choose aquarium forum, and then choose the category closest to what you are asking about. Then pick a title for your thread and away you go.
