55 Gallon Filtration
Well I just busted my fluval 304. I snapped part of where the blue clip goes in. I would have to buy a new motor housing which is over $70. http://www.bigalsonline.com/edealinv...rison+Shopping Kinda a drag. I might be able to fix it. I just need to somehow clamp the other side down enough so water doesn't shoot out.
I am running an Emperor 400 right now. What would be a good secondary filter for this tank. I don't think I want another canister. I don't really think I can afford it right now. The addition of an Aquaclear 70 or another Emperor should be more than enough right?

Why not an ac 110?
It would do great on that tank.I think the 70 is pushing it.
Have you looked here?

A single AC 110 would be plenty for a 55. With the 400 you'd have plenty of filtration.

I was kinda hoping to spend less than the fluval part. You don't think 2 Emperor 400s would be enough?

How about 2 AC 50's? I just ordered 2 for my 55g. $17 each with the cheat code from Drs. F&S.
11 tanks, 5.5g up to 125g(2). Mbuna, Haps, Peacocks, Tangs, wild caught to tank raised!

Depending on what your keeping, an AC 70 would likely be adequate, and again with the 400 it would be more than plenty.

I personally wouldn't even worry about replacing it. You have an Emperor 400 on there and that is plenty for that entire tank. I ran that same model on a 60gal with 14 Mbuna in it with absolutely no filtration issues at all.

The media capacity on the AquaClears far exceeds that of the Emperors, I would go with an AC110.
