Prayers appreciated
Just thought I'd share this here...
A friend of mine had to take her 16-month-old to the ER today. My information is secondhand so I don't know a lot, but apparently he was unable to walk or talk this morning. They also said he's lost three pounds. The doctors are running tests and keeping him hydrated, so hopefully they'll have an answer soon.
I know my friend would appreciate prayers for her son's health, and for her and her husband's peace as they go through this. I can't even imagine what a wreck I'd be if this was my little guy.30-gallon hex -- 5 corydoras trilineatus • 9 cardinal tetras • 1 Bolivian Ram • 5 marbled hatchetfish • 4 otocinclus

Oh no. Sure hope it's not menningitits. Can't imagine why he would not be able to walk or talk. They must just be scared out of their wits. I so hope little guy is OK.

A little bit more information... he's improved slightly and is now crying, but still not eating or drinking or able to stand. He's being admitted for observation, which at least gets them out of the ER and all the craziness there.
I'm really hoping it's nothing contagious. At church yesterday there were six toddlers in his Sunday school class (including mine), and if that wasn't bad enough one of them has a newborn little sister at home.30-gallon hex -- 5 corydoras trilineatus • 9 cardinal tetras • 1 Bolivian Ram • 5 marbled hatchetfish • 4 otocinclus

That's so sad. Poor little guy. Hope it's not serious and clears up quickly!

Just an update: they're home from the hospital and he seems to have improved. No actual answers, though: all of the lab work came back normal. They're still have to work at keeping him hydrated, but hopefully he'll make a full recovery at home. The prayers were much appreciated!
