Um thats bull. I highly doubt a pleco killed it im pretty sure its physically impossible. The pleco probly ate him when the discus died.

You are wrong! My pleco was very aggressive to discus. But I wasn't aware about his reaction. So,it's also my fault..

Punnish the owner for keeping a know aggressive fish with a docile fish such as a discus. That is my judgement.20 lashes with an electric eel.

How large was your pleco and how large was your discus? Large plecos will often predate on other fish when they are hungry enough. If the pleco was that large it shouldnt have been kept with the discus in the first place. If your pleco was a small fish, it probably did eat the discus once it had died. In either case...precaution and homework would have been assets to prevent the death, blame the keeper not the fish.

if it did attack the discus, it was probably hungry (what do you feed it?).
Give him a stern talking to about abusing those fish that are different from him. Let him know just because they are different doesn't give him the right to eat them. Then feed him nothing but veggies and driftwood. That'll learn em good.Who is "General Failure" and why is he reading my hard drive?

I'm so sorry about your discus.
However, I do not think there is any room for punishment. The pleco's not going to learn "okay, I shouldn't have done that...". Part of animal management is learning to appreciate the nature of the beast, so to speak.
The only thing to take from the experience really is to realize that maybe the pleco is not compatible with the discus fish.
Again, very sorry for the loss.

Uh, actually, please don't do that. It would most likely die pretty quick anyway because it is winter but...

Try craigslist or a LFS to hopefully rehome the pleco, that would be what I would do.
Sorry about your discus, they are awesome fish. I had discus in the past and also learned that common plecos can be quite aggressive towards them. None of mine were ever killed, but the pleco made moves for them and also spooked the heck out of them when he'd go crashing around the tank, the pleco didn't stay in that tank long, about 3 days... It wasn't even a very large common. No matter how much I learn or know I'm still gonna be a NOOB, but that doesn't mean I'm an idiot!
