  1. Default Plants for a 5g Indian biotype

I'm going to be creating a 5g with a 1M, 3F Dario dario group, a Hara jerdoni, and maybe some cherry shrimp. They are from Taiwan, so I haven't decided. I want to plant this tank really heavily with a sand bottom. I've used live plans in many tanks, but this is the first time I'm really going to be attempting to emulate a real environment instead of haphazardly buying pretty plants and sticking them in a tank.

    What do you recommend?

  2. Default

That sounds absolutely lovely. I'm not sure I could answer the question ... but I'm going to go do some reading now.

Remember to post pictures when you are done! :)

I'd check www.tropica.com for plants... we really need more information on your tank to recomend plants... are you dosing ferts? if so, what kind? pressurized or diy co2? lighting? substrate?

As for the dario dario... I'd stick with planning on just 1 male and 1 female, females are just about impossible to find, most often it's a sub dominate and non colored up male that ends up being sold as a female... the big pretty one is the dominate male and generally in a tank with only a 16" footprint, the dominate male is going to kill or starve off the sub dominate one...
