Thread: filter help

  1. Default filter help

i have bought my son a 11ltr tank and gold fish s he will leave mine alone,

it is small as you can imagine, i have put a filter in but not sure if is too big/powerful, 4.5w.

not sure about the wattage. what is the filter type? if you do not have a whirlpool going it should be fine.

11 liters is tiny, it is in no way an appropriate size tank for a goldfish. You'll need much more filtration and a larger tank/pond for the goldie. Please consider rehoming him and getting a betta instead.

Way too small for a goldfish. 11 liters is only about 3 gallons. Common type goldfish can get upto a foot in length. Fancy goldfish are still large and messy. The very smallest I would put a fancy in( and this is depending on a lot of factors, some get larger than others) is a 29 gallon. If you already have this fish you really need to A) Take it back/rehome it or B) Get a bigger tank/pond. A betta would work out well for the current tank.
