Is it soft or hard? It doesn't look like a shroom

Its sort of rubbery, like pastry, soft but has some thickness if you see what I mean, since putting it in it is becoming a lighter brown colour

Thanks all, does look like the leathers Ive just googled lol.

Also in the botom corner of that bit of live rock, you can just see on the pic, there is like a white splot, this morning it has pinked up and gone bobbly, its like little pink dots with a white dot inside, could this be a type of coral too.

Loving the tank as I have seen loads of little shrimpy, centipedy things too

BBC, "leather" is a generic name to describe a ton of different soft corals. Getting a 100% positive ID on the exact species of coral you have is going to be nearly impossible.

The pink thing is likely just a sponge. Could be any number of things at this point. You are going to see a ton of different life forms pop up.

thanks all, it really is facinating, I cant believe how much time I spend just watching the tank. I prefre to watch in the evening or morning with the blue leds on as thats when its more active. This morning the "leather" is losing the shiny coating and becoming more hairy.

Those would be pods. Most likely amphipods and copepods.
