    Question fish pond

Hi Everybody, my name is Deb and hubby Malcom has made a fish pond. There is a pump and a filter and some fat and happy goldfish who have made babies over the year. There are however an incredible number of moschito larvae in the pond . Are goldfish carnivorous? Can any one tell me. And if not how do I get rid of them ? The moschito larvae not the fish.!

Welcome. If you have sufficient water movement you will not have skeeter larvae. How big is the pond and what size pump and filtration do you have. How many fish are stocked at the moment.Yes goldys will eat the larvae, idk why they arent.

    Welcome to the Fabulous AC!
Its odd that the fish haven't eaten all the larvae.Thats usually a real treat for fish.
Can you give us more info and possibly some pics of the pond and filter/pump?
It will help a great deal to assist you.

What are the dimensions of the pond? My pond has a fairly large surface area, and the side farthest from the waterfall was a somewhat still area. So I prevented any Mosquito problems by adding a small fountain to that side just to maintain water movement. With proper water movement Mosquito's won't lay eggs in your pond.

The larve takes a week or more to develop, so if you take a stick and stir it up every couple days the mosquitoe larve will drown.
