  1. Default Just got some big a** turtles

okay well i have a problem i ended with 3 turtles
1 male that is maybe 8-9 inches long
1 female that is the same length
and a smaller one maybe 5 inches

so in total 3 all RES

well umm i cant care for them and I really like them, and i dont want them to die and i kno that my options are limited and here is an idea

there is a "park", but its closed off you have to pay to get in, and they have lots of ponds and stuff, basically is protected
    here
    http://www.arboretum.org/index.php/explore/

ive been there countless times as a child and there are TONS of RES there i promise

    is this a good choice?

    or

find someone on craigslist to take care of them?

THanks and sorry for the long pointless story lol

it's illegal to release them back in the wild. You would about need a kiddy pool for that much turtle! So I can understand you not being able to keep them. Where are you located? I would try craigslist or turtle forums to find an adopter. There are really good reptile rescues that will take them in too. I wouldn't release them in the ponds simply because it would be illegal and if your turtles gave some disease to the others and wiped them all out it would not be good. Not likely but it is possible. If your not to far away I might could take one;) Oh and don't put them in with yours, they are opportunistic feeders and could possibly bite him

try the kiddy pool, more than likely unless you find a shelter that's what they are going to end up in. I saw one on a forum that had a little slide for kids being used for the basking area and the guy took a $15 roll of cheap foot and a half picket fence looking yard decoration and wrapped around the top. Not the prettiest thing but a great habitat for turtles that big.

i would so do that, but my parents want to get rid of it cause once i leave for college they wont care for it..dannng i really wanna keep them lol

Call a few fish stores and see if they are interested.
You could also contact any public aquariums or zoos.

Zoos aren't that good to adopt animals too, they're usually inundated by requests to take unwanted pets...

...but you can try...you never know, they might just be needing a turtle...
