wow it took almost 3 years for a broad of my ciclid eggs to hatch 100 or more just discovered today they are altolamprologous compressiceps I had 12 differant kind to start with only 4 left in a 20 gallon tank a breeding pair what luck the other two are mitch match . Should I just leave them alone the yolk sacs are absorbed the mom is garding them but the male seems to be picking on her?

I know nothing of Cichlids but congratulations. You might want to try posting in the Cichlid section on the AC.

From what I have read the male will eat them if given the chance.
I would remove tham soon.Have you another cycled tank?
Hopefully some other members will have some ideas for you.I have never kept them.Ray

The most I know about breeding is guppys! Sorry...
