  1. Default Jack Dempsey or a Green Terror?

I'm just looking for some personal opinions on these fish? I'm restocking my aquariums (got a new 20H and 75 gallon) and my current cycled 55 will soon be empty except for the 6 giant danios in it.

I want to add either a jack dempsey or a green terror to the 55 but I cannot make my mind up as to which fish to get. Both are beautiful fish.

I've read JD's can be rather shy? Also that they prefer the lower half of the aquarium while a GT is not shy at all and will swim in all levels of the aquarium.

  2. Default

Well I have a think for Jack Dempsey's now, I would recommend them.
    55 Gallon:
    - Spring 2010 build
    10 Gallon
    - (1) Blue Powder Gourami
    - (2) Sunburst Platys
    - (4) Black Skirt Tetras

I wouldn't go with either of those as they will both get too big (10" or so) for the width of a 55g. Rainbow cichlids would be a nice option instead.

A female Jack Dempsey may stay small enough. if you like the Green Terrors look into the Blue Acara. They are in the same family, look very simmilar, less agressive, and stay smaller at 6-7 inches.
