Breeding Kribensis. Tips? :)

ok so i am thinking of breeding kribensis and I have done a lot of reading. here is what i alrady know and what i have questions about: i will bold my questions

1. i am going to buy a 20 gallon tank off of craigslist. i need a filter and what else?
2. in the tank, i will need some fake greenery and overturned flowerpots for the fish to lay eggs. also, i need pea gravel?
3. when filling the tank with water, how acidic should i make it and how? do i add tablespoons of salt? :0
3. i will feed the parent fish brine shrimp. are blood worms a better choice?
4. once the eggs are hatched, should i remove the father?
5. also, should i feed the fry flaked food?
6. how many eggs will the female lay? i read somewhere 80-100 but then i read 20. is there a definite answer?

2. gravel is not needed. I prefer it but not needed.

3. what is your water now. no salt

3. blood worms and pellets and flakes are better

4. see how they do the first time or two. They are usually good parents.

5. newly hatched brine shrimp would be better

6. 80-100 sounds about right depends on the health and condition of the female.

alright thanks so much! and a 20 gal tank is OK? how big should i let them get before i sell them?

A 20 long is fine. They need to be sexable an inch or so. You will need another tank to grow them out in.

1. heater (I recommend a VisaThermal Stealth Heater 100 watts).
2. medium grade aquarium gravel.
3. no salt. Test your water to find out the pH, Gh, Ammonia, Nitrite,and Nitrate. Api are good test kits for your water. Buy them, you'll need them.

4. Brine shrimp twice a week. And a spirulina based sinking pellet food.
5. You don't need to remove the father.
6. When the female is mature enough, she will lay about 100 eggs, maybe more. There is no definitive amount.

Do you have a cycled aquarium?

I recommend an Aquaclear 50 filter.

They do love bloodworms as Rich stated.

10gal is to small. You should have caves, slate more caves and some more caves.

Sorry, was trying to be funny. I just mean you should have more then 2 caves in the tank.. and some slate just in case they want to breed there.
