Thank you very much. I consider the move a great success since we didn't loose a single fish or coral and we didn't cause a mini cycle. Hopefully we can avoid any major algae cycle. I need to pick up a new magna float cause the ones we had for the 29 gallons aren't strong enough for the thicker glass

Necessary to have all those powerheads in there? I have 2 in mine and my clowns seemed to just hide off in a corner because of all the water movement over the LR.

Its personal preference and also depends on what you are keeping. I love flow and I'll be adding 1 more powerhead soon. We also have a lot of sps which need flow

Our firefish went carpet surfing this afternoon
We think the hawkfish chased him out of the tank.
On an upside we picked up some coral. We got a favia, sun coral, pink birdsnest, a type of milli and another sps which I can't think of its name, all for $40. Hopefully all this hard coral will bring our calcium down to a better level

Sorry about the fire fish, sucks when animals decide to take a leap. My condolences on that

Cant wait to see pics of the new coral, especially the sun coral

Thank you. This is the first jumper we've had in over a year. With the halide I can't really use a top because the tank would heat up way too much.
Here's a pic of the sun coral. Since they mostly open up at night cause their non-photosynthetic I took one just now with the flash. I'll try and get a better one tomorrow if it comes out during the day

sorry about the fish I had one fish(yellow wrasse) carpet surf on me not too long ago but I was there to pick it up and put it right back in the tank. I keep wanting to add a mesh lid but I can't find the time to do so.
congrats on your new additions.

Egg crate is a nice option, plus it looks kind of cool when cut to fit the inner rims of the tank.

I had some on one of the 29 gallons with t-5's. How does it hold up under metal halides?

Here's some pics of the rest of the coral we picked up last night. The sps are on the sand for now to slowly acclimate them to the halide. After a few days I'll move them to the rocks
I don't remember the name of this one, but its going to turn bright green once its been under the halides for a few days

This is a type of milipora which will also be bright green

Pink w/purple polyp birdsnest

This is a purple death we bought a single polyp of about a year ago. Since adding to this tank its purple color is really showing
