Black Beauty
Is black beauty sand blast sand a usable substrate? It says on the bag its 99% coal slag... anyone had any experience with this?

I know someone has used some sandblasting sand here.It may be Mith.

being coal slag it will contain a considerable amount of heavy metals
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Probably a bad idea then...
I talked with my LFS owner today, he said once he gets an order over $500, he gets free shipping, so I'm going to go with the 30lb case of estes black aquarium sand, should be perfect! And no shipping! (should be 20-30$ a case)
Anyone have an idea of how much I'll need for a planted 125g? at 30lb cases.. I'm guessing 5 cases? (less, I hope.. haha)
