If you want help then start a new thread in the discus section asking your question.
You will also have to let us know what size tank,filtration,tank mates,and what tank maintenence you do?
Also how you cycled the tank and your perameters would help.

I don't know If you will find this useful but in setting up Hosp. tanks I have ran across a good method that I use to date. I discovered this by reading some very interesting articles about fish shows and how the entrants deal with the difficulties of showing fish in remote locations. I figure if it is good for some rich guys $5,000 Super red Xback show Arrowana its good enough for me...lol And it really works giving you several days between water changes.

Here is the trick I use for filtration on Hospital tanks:
Chemical filtration using:
I take a .99 pair of new pantyhose and make two filter socks out of one of the legs.
I then put the products listed below into the filter socks. One product per sock.
Ammo chips = Ammonia remediation
Nitrasorb = Nitrite remediation
Next I tie off the open end and mold to fit snug in my filter instead of bio media.
I find this method very effective because it does two major things:
1) It averts the need to worry about the bio - filter which is often nuked when you medicate with antibiotics.
2) It can give you more time between water changes thus allowing more contact time between meds and the patient.

I have found if you have (2) sets of these materials you can have one set recharging in salt water while the other is in the tank. They typically recharge in 24 Hrs by soaking them in a salt solution.

If you have ammonia chips, do you really need nitrate absorber? If no ammonia, you shouldn't have its bio-breakdown chemical? Wouldn't more ammonia chips be better, instead?

Nitrasorb absorbs Nitrites. I like to be safe , in case any gets converted. however that is an EXCELLENT point!!!
