    what kind of substrate do i need in Discus Tank?

    for juvies a bare bottom is best. for sub adults or adults, sand is much easier to keep clean.

    My discus fry tank I keep bare just for ease of water changes and cleaning, since this tank gets daily water changes. The tank with the adults I have just pool filter sand in. From home depot, a large bag you can get for under 10 bucks. Can rinse it a bit to get rid of the smaller particles.
