As the title says, what is this? Thanks!

Do you have any pictures of its underside or mouth? That can help a lot in identifying. Any close-ups of its head would probably help too.
I'm not an expert, but from just the top view, I'd say some kind of catfish. Or did you know that already?

Does it eat whatever is in the tank with it?
Can you get a side and front shot of it please?
That tank really needs some water in it!
Is it filtered at all?Ray

Sorry, those are the only pictures I have. My parents got it and these are the only pictures they sent me. You can enlarge the pictures to get a better view of the head, and one of the pictures has a reflection that shows the underside of the mouth.
I actually have no clue what fish this is. It doesn't seem to have any barbels, so I don't know if it's a catfish. Plus apparently it eats feeder fish and is really aggressive, do catfish do that?Last edited by superyogurt; 11-10-2009 at 05:06 PM.

I think my parents took the picture just after they got back with it. I'm pretty sure they've topped off the tank by now.

I cannot give you an ID on the fish but I can tell you two things.
Watch your fingers,It looks like a bad ass fish.
It needs a huge tank.
That fish looks like its longer than the tank is deep.(front to back)
I hope that is just a transport tank.I don't think its finished growing.
Hopefully someone else will be on soon that can positivly ID it for you.Ray

Agree with Rich if I had to guess. Doesn't look like a catfish at all to me.
