white gooey growth

Hi all,

I recently setup a DIY CO2 system in a couple of tanks, using yeast sugar and water. Lately there has been a white milky growth right around the diffuser that i cannot explain. I'm wondering if its some sort of algae. It only occurs right around the CO2 diffuser and nowhere else in both tanks. any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure what it actually is, but it is comman with DIY CO2 setups. Just clean it off, it does not seem to hurt the tanks inhabitants.
