This is kind of interesting, my oscars seem to be chillin because of...
Dvorak classical music lol
I'm trying to figure out what to do with one of them. Its hard... so I'm procrastinating trying to see if I can make things work in the mean time.
Keeping the light off obviously helps. But just out of curiousity, I thought maybe some tunes would at the very least distract them.
So I put some ear plugs in a bag, put the bag just under the water and threw some classical on my old mp3 player. Been playing all day, and they have been so well behaved?! I know its probably a coincidence, but I thought I would share my experiment.
I should play around, see if some metal makes them crazy, and if drum and bass or goa psy trance makes them move!

Interesting project, hope you do some more experiments like it!
When I was 14 one of my goldfish tanks was right by the computer. Whenever I played heavy beat dance music my male goldfish would swim in patterns back and forth across the tank. =]A severe lack of trichogaster.
Just because your Gourami is sick does not mean it is always Iridovirus, DGIV, Gourami Disease, et cetera.
Look at all the other factors in your tank before coming to this conclusion.

You know, as crazy as it is.. it seems to be working still lol They listened to dvorak all day. No body looks injured.. They're not fighting.
I tried some kind of dance/rave beats by Ibiza, apparently they dont like that...
But some mellow drum and bass seems to be ok by them lol I say they dont like the dance because they started fighting. Now with dnb they're not heh.
Nifty.

I thought of you when I read this months PFK, theres a small article about music and fish, aparently studies have showen that seabream grow faster in captivity if played mozart lol
And apparently other studies with koi showed they reacted to different types of music
