After heffs experience, I think he's wise to the fact life exists outside of the tank
So as some of you know, my oscar heff had a bad night a few days ago. Got spooked, and jumped out of the water landing in the over flow (thank god!)
Since then, the egg crates I have on the top have been secured down lol
But his attitude is so different now! Its like he's seen whats out there! And now this overflow is the key!
He used to be such a nice fish, now he's attacking anyone that goes near the overflow, Its his now! lol I shouldn't laugh, I feel bad for tooch. That used to be her side of the tank! And now she's sulking in the corner near the surface on that side because if she moves, heff gums her.
So i've tried to be a good pet owner, and intervene them. Changed the tank around a bit so maybe heff will calm down with this new wealth of knowledge he's come across.
Also discovered a good way to interrupt fights. A flourescent green straw, put that in the water and they stop and look...
If they continue fighting, you blow bubbles. Works every time

My bala shark got spooked hoped right out of the tank the other day behind the tank between the wall! But after a coast guard like rescue effort I saved the poor fellow but he seems a little lethargic now.
My last signature was obnoxious.

They seem to be better right now. I gave tooch some hiding spots in HER turf, and heff has retreated from the overflow to his place now.
So maybe life will go back to normal now. Hopefully lol What a week for the oscars.

That is too funny!!!!
From Heff's perspective, maybe he thinks he sees you "swimming around" all free as a breeze and he now knows how you got out of the tank!!!

You need to tell him that his life outside the tank will only last about 2 minutes.
