My name is aslam, i'm from Sri Lanka and i'm new here. I've been keeping fish for over 4 years now ( yes, still a newbie according to most), started out with guppies, these guys are found everywhere here, including lakes, rivers, canals, ponds ,etc.. and then eventually moved on to gourami's and barbs.

I had a pair of tiger oscars for over 2 years...and had to give them away when i had to go overseas for an indefinite amount of time but i've recently found out that they are still very much alive, and VERY big!
anyways, i have'nt had any fish since the oscars, until now that is and I was presented a small 23 litre tank...it was lying around the house and i decided to put it to some other use than collecting dust :)

i now have 2 pairs of gold gourami's and 2 pairs of tiger barbs and a small pleco.. all fish are relatively small, the biggest out of the lot (gourami) is about 5 cms.. i intend to keep them in this tank for a while and them will eventually transfer them to my 50 gallon hexagonal tank..

so, big hello and hope to meet some like minded fish enthusiasts :)
