Default New wild blue acara! Photo!

Just caught this guy in a pond and introduced him to his new 55 gallon predator fee home! Ive wanted to keep them for a while now and as I repaired the leak in my 55 on Friday, I had my chance. Im using one of the filters from my 70 along with old water that I changed over the weekend, parameters are good. I'll be getting a replacement filter for the 70 today.

I'll be introducing a mate for him very soon. Im so excited!

    Very nice catch!
We are allowed to keep wild local fish here too but we are not allowed to to remove them from their water to our tanks. They must be caught on a hook and can only be taken home as a fillet with some skin left on it.
If you can manage to get it in your tank somehow its part of your legal limit.
I just love how Canadian laws are written!

Very cool catch! I would love to go down to the pond and find the fish your catching LOL, I only get them on the rare occasion at the petstores up here.

    Free Fish vs Different Fish

    That's a tough decision....

    Default

Actually, its no decision. The petstores here dont carry most of the species available in the US.

Yes, they are very common. they get so big here, people eat them. Do you think I can safely mix the two species?
