  1. Default Looking for something yellow...

A friend of mine asked me about stocking his aquarium the other day. He mentioned wanting something yellow and he currently has tetras and other peaceful fish. Does anyone have a suggestion for him that could add a bit of yellow to the tank? I offered him some yellow shrimp but he was thinking fish.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

He might enjoy a gold ram if that will fit in with his current tank size and stocking.

Lemon tetras or maybe some yellow glofish? One of my chanchito's would be fine with tetras and other "community" fish if he would be happy with a smaller cichlid. Males grow to about 5" max, about the same size as convicts but much easier to get along with in general. Here's a recent pic of my adult male:

Rams are good. You can also go with any number of yellow molly/platty/guppies.

Yellow or honey gouramis are also good.

Lemon tetras, platies, mollies, or the glofish danios would all add yellow. A gold gourami (color variant of the 3 spot) would also add some yellow to the tank. What are the tankmates? Not all of what I recommended above will work depending on the size of the tank and the other occupants.
