Should I reseal my tank?
Not long ago I bought a used 38 gallon tank off of craigslist. After cleaning it all up and scrubbing it down, I noticed that the silicone up and down all four corners was very thin and flaky in some areas. When I filled the tank, there were no leaks, so I'm wondering if this is one of those if it ain't broke, don't fix it deals or if I should do it anyway.
Also, the silicone where the sides meet the bottom is very thick and in almost new condition. If I end up resealing the sides, is it going to be possible to do only the sides without messing with the bottom?

Resealing a tank is very easy. Its a pain removing all the old silicone. You can do the whole job in a few hours.Use a flat razor to remove all the silicone inside the tank first.
Clean all the edges with alcohol.
Tape your edges so they all come out straight.
You cannot only do the sides as silicone will not and does not stick to old silicone.
I did my 135.Here are some pics of how its done.http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...t=38635&page=3Ray

Yeah, as NorthernGuy said, you can't just do the corners, you have to do the whole thing. Also, if you do it, and do it right (as he's described,) you can be pretty sure that it's not going to leak ever again.

Crap, I didn't even think about doing the outside on the bottom. I'm worried about being able to get my trim peice off, I've read about people having to break them. NG, how necessary is it to do the bottom. I don't have a problem doing the extra work, but I don't want to be doing extraneous work.
