    Default sky light for reef lighting?

    bear with me but could you use sky lights instead of 1000k antinc and MH

    sorry that i don't elaborate more I'm just a newbie and can't afford a reef but i want t know =)

    Unless you live in the tropics and have and your whole ceiling is a skylight so it gets 12 hrs of light, I would say no

    29 gallon-planted community
    20 long frag tank
    75 gal-planted goldfish
    75 gallon mixed reef with 20 gallon sump

    labnjab pretty much got it spot on.

    If you can't afford lighting for a reef tank, then don't even start one.
