Got my CPR Bak-Pak 2
And its operating just fine but the air intake that hangs out of the water with the valve on the end is REALLY noisy. Anyone know how to reduce this? And Im getting a VERY SLIGHT tiny bubble stream coming out of the out flow into the take. This shouldn't be a problem right?

That valve shouldn't be noisy at all. Try adjusting it. And you will have bubbles for awhile, it's breaking in.....

ya just read somewhere the bubbles were fine. I have taken it off put it back on etc.. but its not like a valve that you can adust. Its a cap with a whole and then another cap to go over it. There is nothing to adjust the air flow or whatever as the directions suggest. Im so confused!

here is the pump:

So apparently, there is nothing to adjust on the pump or at the end of the airline to decrease the noise.... Did I set it up wrong?
I plugged the pump into the skimmer. Put the collection cup on the skimmer. Submerged it. Turned it on. Got foam. And noise! Its not UNBEARABLE but it is kind of annoying since a skimmer for this tank size isnt completely 100% necessary and I just spent 120 bucks for "extra filtration".29g Saltwater, FOWLR

I have heard of people putting airstones on the end of that tube that hangs out of the water to muffle noise. Mines still in the mail so no clue if it would actually work or not.

well that aint a bad idea. I will try that! So you bought one of these? Well after the first couple hours, mine has already collected a "mocha" colored liquid. Wonderful skimmer.

Yeah I got a used one from a member on Reef Central for my up and coming 15G high reef. Got it shipped with the bubble trap and preskimmer for $50, things like a couple months old tops. I got it in the mail today and IMO the airstone placed on that hose that hangs out of the water would help muffle the noise some. Ive heard that people rave about the performance of these skimmers but they can sometimes be loud, seems pretty normal for a CPR. Im glad to hear that yours is sucking out so much waste! Let me know if you try the airstone and it works nicely.
