For the first time in a long time with my roommate. It was fun I only caught 2 fish a decent largemouth and a bluegill. First 2 fish my roommate caught were 2 tiny largemouth about 3-4" he wanted to bring them home and put them in my tank (even though I only have a spare 10g right now) hmm I like the idea might have to start checking craigslist for a 100+ gallon tank lol

Just have to ask why you said 200+ gallons? I dont plan on keeping it forever maybe like 3 years max which everywhere ive read the max at 3 years for a largemouth (depending how much you feed it) is 13" in our oscar section it states you can keep an oscar in a 75g (I know it says 125g is better) which they can get up to 16"

What are you going to do after 3 years of keeping it? You can't release it back into the wild. Are you planning on eating it? They are also very messy, needing 2-3x more filtration then you normally keep on a tank. If you want to keep a LMB in a 125 for 3 years by its self, then go for it. I thought you want to keep more fish.

If I kept something like that it would be the only fish in there, heck I dont know if Id keep it 3 years, I dont eat fish like that but thats what my roommate wants to do. Keep it a little bit let it grow and fatten it up to grill it lol

LOL, eating a fish that you have been feeding flake to is not the best. You would have to feed crawdads etc to it to make it taste any what good.

Small fish are healthy for them. Shad are perfect for them and baby bluegills are perfect. I go fishing all the time and get those everytime. Good Luck. Oh yeah dont get caught bringing those young bass home though. You'll get a ticket.

On Ohios Fishing site it states theres no minimal size to take bass except in posted locations, if you fish in a private lake or pond you can take whatever which is what Id do. But it all depends what my roommate wants to do so we will see
