thanks for the info. i am "rehousing" nearly all of my fish to friends or whoever that can accommodate them. like i said in the other topic, i really want fewer but larger fish. i love my Balas, and i can't wait for them to gain a little bit of size. i also love my rainbow shark.

i have always admired clown loaches but i don't know if i can accommodate them. if i thought they would be ok i would probably have my 3 balas, 1 rainbow shark, and like 3 clown loaches. but my tank is not suitable i'm guessing.

Clown loaches are cool, but they are not suitable for a 50, especially with the balas, rainbow and tigers. It's one thing to keep a couple fish that will outgrow the tank...it's quite another to fill the tank with such fish.

Clown Loaches, like balas like to school, so really you should be thinking about 6 of each. Clown loaches will also probably hide most of the time. DO yourself a favor and stop thinking about clown loaches. If you like loaches there are other, smaller species you could consider.

The kissing kind are the most aggressive of the gouramis. The "kissing" they do is actually jousting.

If you reall ylove your balas then do the right thing and get an appropriate tank for them or rehome them to someone who can keep them correctly.
