To treat Ich, or not...
So my new golden wonder killi (petsmart) I got two days ago has what looks like two ich spots on the tailfin, and no where else. It's been in a QT with excellent water quality, so my plan is to watch closely and if no more appear, continue with the good water treatment. If more show up or if the goldfish gets a spot, then I'll treat. Sound good?

if it was me, i would just return it and get one that doesn't have ich in a different tank. but if your going to keep it, treat it now. a) if it does get worse, you'll have a harder time getting rid of it. b) less stressful for the fish.
besides isn't ich caused by stress of the fish? perhaps reduce stressful factors, like turn off the lights?currently:20 gallon tank with:
3 african dwarf frogs
1 bristlenose pleco
7 swordtails
4 hengli rasbora
1 platy
ac50filter
aqueon quietflow 20 filter.

I took it home and put it in a qt - That alleviated any stress factors. It didn't get ich in my tank, but I think the better conditions are going to take care of this. I don't know if two little spots even constitutes ich...I don't know as much about diseases as I should. I guess in a way that's a good thing

lol that's tiny. i guess as long as he's not itching, then yeah go with your intial plan. but if he shows any signs of ich then you should probably treat.

I have had fish with ich after the stress of moving into my new tank and just keeping the water quality up and using my UV sterilizer it went away on its own.
