    Question Hagen or Current

One of my bulbs on my 2x39w t5ho fixture. I was looking at new bulbs and saw that Hagen's Life-Glo(6700k) and Current's SlimPaq(6700k) were among the cheapest, besides GE 6500k. So, which is better?

Current bulbs, as well as the fixtures, are notorious for problems; I'll leave it at that. I'd go with the Hagen since it's the proper spectrum for photosynthesis.

I've never had a problem with a hagen product. Never owned a current though.

Coralife also makes a great product if you can find one of their bulbs.
Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can pay the rent.

I find Current fixtures to be just fine. Didn't know about the bulbs though. I guess I'll just see what's available around here to avoid shipping costs.

If this was for SW I would obvisously be getting ATI or UVL.

I haven't heard that about Current. I have always heard Current was really good for the money. Not the best, but better gets much more expensive.

If you are only buying the bulbs it is worth it to buy the really good ones. Some even have built-in reflectors that really increase the amount of light getting into the tank.

I'm not trying to get all the light I can get. At 2.6wpg that's plenty for me, and I fried my javas with that much. So, no need for the ATI or UVL or Giesemann, as I already stated.

Okay, well, I might end up getting another bulb from FishNeedIt for free. Katana brand, can't even find them on the web.

Well, they said to switch the bulbs around, and if it still doesn't work, they'll send me a new one.
