Sigh..
Hey look here.
Ill get this straight...In my part of the world where i live there are no such things as "the maximum you can store in an aquarium(Limit)"..They just dump the fish into the tank..And obviously anybody will know when a tank has too much fish in it..U know the simple thumb measure..
They don't use heaters and water test kits here..They just clean the tank when they feel its dirty or when it really needs a full water change...And thats because in this country there are no such things as summer, winter, autumn n stuff...So the temperature is not a problem here...Fish are doing really really fine...
When i logged on here, i saw a whole lot here and way way complicated stuff..
Like Cycling(I don't know exactly what this is even after reading the E book), Ammonia, Nitrate n stuff...Omg thats too too much..
Guys look here im sorry if i look a lil bit fishy k...But i jus have to explain it caz most of the time i post sumthing they jus give weird answers to the post...
So i exactly dont know the size of ma tank, i cant even get it after calculating..Thats bcaz i have tank with a weird shape...
Once again fish are doing really fine even if u dont feed em well..They breed here as well..
MY COUNTRY IS SRI LANKA.....Sighhhh...

I do not understand how a tank can work in one place and not in the other!
Yes you do have a different water systems but the fish still need to live in a cycled tank the PROPER SIZE!
We do worry about how fish are kept around here.
Heaters may not be neccesary but healthy perameters are no matter where you live.
What are your tank dimensions?Ray

It is a 6 sided tank..
Here is the drawing..]
And also i know that Parameters are important but macho that does not make an issue here...Majority dont have test kits here....

I don't own any test kits either.......
They just dump the fish into the tank..And obviously anybody will know when a tank has too much fish in it..U know the simple thumb measure..
Thats all good, and I am assuming you would know if you tank is overstocked since anybody will know when it is overstocked. So since yours probably isn't, why not let us know what is in it so we can try and help you.
Most problems you or anyone else will come across are pretty simple fixes.... such as too many fish in a tank or dirty water... all things that can be fixed rather easily.

Your tank is 15.5 gallons based on the dimensions you provided. That's 58 liters if you use metric. Clearly not even big enough for one oscar, let alone four. Now that you know the volume, you can begin researching which species are appropriate for your tank.

I'm not sure of your definition of "fish are doing fine", but keeping fish in overstocked, under-filtered, and untested/treated water will decrease their life span, decrease their natural growth rate, make them less healthy and more susceptible to disease and infection. I'm certain the science will bear this out.
There is ample information provided, in both the free e-book and from previous posts to give your pets the environment that is best for them. If that's not enough, there is no lack of experienced fish keepers here to answer any and all of your questions.
The responses provided here are simply to provide you and your fish a healthy and enjoyable environment. The resources are available to you- but its up to you to determine if you will utilize them or not.

Just because in Sri lanka they don't have those systems in place, that doesn't mean that they are fine over there, It just means people are uninformed.
And btw, there isn't a maximum amount of fish you can have ANYWHERE in the world, It's just that if you want your fish to be healthy, you can't have too many fish.
There are many people in North America and Europe who pack their aquariums with way more fish than they should have BECAUSE they are uninformed on how to maintain an aquarium. We are a website that offers advice, and we say that you shouldn't have oscars in your tank because they get huge and aggresive and will die of ammonia poisoning NOT because there is a "maximum limit" in our country/countries.SIX OR MORE MAN TO THE RESCUE!

Clearly, this is not right no watter where in the world you are. You're fish will get physically bigger than the tank allows if you let them grow to be the natural size. And what is your simple thumb measure?

Folks are desperately trying to guide you and give you the advice you need, whether you like what you read or not. As responsible fish keepers, we want you to be successful and enjoy the hobby and not always be asking for help when you and fish are in trouble. You are not going to be successful on the path that you have chosen, I'm afraid. Lastly, it matters not where you live to be a successful fish keeper. Yes, you may limited in the types of aquarium, equipment, food, test kits, etcetera, because of where you live, but that is not an excuse for irresponsible fish keeping.
I would suggest that you read the links/info that folks have pointed you towards to become a successful and responsible fish keeper. If you have questions on those, come back and ask. Let's not start another thread like this one or the other one. This one is closed.
