Thread: Which Powerhead

  1. Default Which Powerhead

I started my 46 gal tank yesterday, filled with salt water and live sand. As of right now Im using a biowheel penguin 200 (getting a SKIMMER later), And bought a Penguin 550 Powerhead, I was thinking about buying a HYDOR KORALIA 4 1200GPH as well. Would that be too much?? should I may be go with a KORALIA 3 instead??

I would say a Koralia 4 is definitely overkill, and a Koralia 3 would depend on tank setup. I would personally get a combination of Koralia 2's, 1's, and nano's. Possibly a Koralia 2 and a Koralia 1 for the whole tank.
Stock the tank you have, not the tank you plan to have. Always have and use patience.

For those of you who want a SW tank and never have had one before or just starting out, read this blog entry from my blog on AC, it will give you a place to start.

Thanks a lot... I guess I'm buyin the koralia 3 then!
