Upgrading Beta Tank
I got Leonidas around the time the movie 300 came out, so I've had him for over three years now. He's in a 1.5 gallon tank and I've really been meaning to upgrade it. Now it seems like a good enough time.
I'm thinking a five gallon tank and some more stuff. He seems to like a lot of plants and coverings.
If I'm going to upgrade I might as well do it right.
Is five gallons big enough? I've read that a lot of people over crowd their tanks, he's been pretty happy and stable in a 1.5 gallon tank. I'm not so much worried about price as I'm worried about space. I don't really have room for a very big tank. So I'm hoping 5 gallons is pretty good.
Does he need small gravel or sand?
Anything else I should consider?

A 5 gallon tank would be a great tank for our Betta.
Makes a nice little planted tank for Bettas

I like the ten gallon more! lol
Almost everyone gets a small tank of 5gals. or less for a beta. The next question is what else can I put in with him because he seems lonely. The next thing we say is that the tank is too small for anything else.lol
I say a ten is the smallest tank for a beta mostly for that reason.Ray Your Freindly Neighborhood,Fully Mod-ified, Self-appointed Pic Hound!! Need pics!!!
