Fishy sleep time?

When I go to bed I turn off my aquarium lights and place a black bed sheet over the tank because usually I leave my monitor running over night and leave the tv on (it's just a kind of habit I have) because I fear they'll just be up all night long. Anyone else do this?

I turn a night light on after the main lights go out.
I have never covered my tanks.
Do your fish react to the tv.
I don't think your fish will mind watching tv!
Just don't watch any fishing shows! lol

They never get into that state of sleeping, if you know what I mean. I've seen them come out of a sleeping state and I recognize it well after I remove the cover. When I wake up, I turn the tv off, remove the cover and fold it up, go shower and what not, then come back. And when I remove the cover it looks like they are in a completely different state of mind. But after nights where I leave the tv on I never noticed the same reaction. I just thought it would be better for them to get a better nights rest since I'm such a light junkie.

Well fish do need to keep a schedule of light an dark just like anything else. I guess the covering the tank is ok, if it works for your fish do it. But what about during the day when you are gone?? They could be sleeping then and you just do not see it. I have never done that, but really I see no harm in it.
