my dog ate my algae balls
Algae balls, marimo balls, that freshwater decorative algae that grows in a nice '
ball... they sell for 4 to 10 bucks each...
I bring my dog to work with me at my shop, but usually keep him in a penned area. The other day I decided to let him run free in the shop while I was working on my computer. I came strolling into my office with his whole face dripping wet. i knew he had been into something...
I walked into the other room and found bits and pieces of marimo balls strewn all over the flor of the room. He had gone bobbin for marimo balls that were in a shallow tray of water on the bottom shelf of a wire rack. He pulled them all out of the water and chewed them into tiny little pieces. I tried to roll them back into normal size, but they won't stick together, so now instead of tennis ball size marimo balls, I now have a ton of marble size marimo balls!

He likely thought your tank needed some more and propagated them for you :-).
Do as I say. Not as I do.
