I feel that weather has actually had a drastic change over tha last few years. The winters are definately longer with colder temps and more snow.
Now it rains about the same amount but the winds are rediculous. It seems to be windier than before, every day.lol
Today I am watching the aluminum siding get ripped off the side of my house!
Its 3 stories up and the winds are at least 45-50 miles an hour. lol The weather network says 37kmh.

Yeah I have noticed that the weather has been a bit nutty the past few years. The winters have been longer I think, and the storms we have had are pretty strange. Like the ice storm we had here, then the wind storm. I think that the combo of all that global warming has caused and just the natural cycles has changed it a bit. I mean seriously the ice caps melting has to be effecting the weather!

Ohh I definately agree with you...the weather has gotten stranger, especially in the last 3-4 years. This was the longest winter ever, and we still havent had any consistancy in the warmth spring should be bringing. It can be 40F one day and 75F the next. Very cold & windy here today too.

It really makes ya wonder sometimes....whats going on with our planet. Things are certainly changing.

Last year we had probably the mildest winter ever...it honestly snowed maybe 4-5 times and even then only a couple of inches. We're paying for it in rain this spring tho...rain has been crazy bad like last night I was trying to drive home but it was raining so bad I could only see like a matter of feet infront of me and I was going like 25 in a 55mph zone where I usually drive atleast 60. Even still most people had to pull off the road and wait it out. And it has honestly rained like every day for the last 2 weeks...but usually when it does this we have a long hot dry summer.

Agreed. Climate change is not our friend.

However, theres virtually nothing you, or the population as a whole can do about it, just hang on for the ride NG

We could enter an endless debate about this but I will say that it is my opinion that global warming is continuing at a logarithmic rate and will not end in our favor. Momma Earth is not designed to handle our bioload.

You guys must be getting all our rain!!

I agree NG, it has been weird. But we've been opposite, summer seemed to last forever and it's been really hot. They've only just at the start of this month lifted the fire restricitons so you can burn stuff off, because of how warm and how dry it's been, then they'll probably come back on in September.

We've only had few what I'd class as "winter" days so far this year (OK I know it's not winter yet, but you know what I mean, LOL) and over the last couple of years, there's only been about half a dozen times where I've actually had to go outside to let the dogs up into the laundry at night because they have muddy feet, otherwise I've just let them in through the side door and run through the house.

And I haven't had to wear a warm jacket out for years and I think my raincoat is probably perished hanging in the back cupboard!

Definately strange. And terminology has changed too, the weather reporter says that get go "rain" last night but it was 0.2 of a mm. Now since when has 0.2 of mm been rain?????? That's not even enough for dew in the morning if you ask me! I spose they are trying to make it all add up though, I think we've had 7% of our rain fall that we normally average (well not over the last 6-10 years though!) so historically average is proabably a better way of putting it, but here we are nearly half way through the year and only 7% (maybe 8 now, we've about 0.5mm over the lst 2 days!)

Yep, I agree. Today the wind is gusting over 40 mph! Last winter was the worst we have had in a long time, as far as cold and very LONG! We actually ran out of wood and had to buy some. We had the shed full as we usually do and it still took more. We are still burning it now. We are just glad we don't have to buy much fuel oil. It would be great to have a nice, quiet, warm day once.
