Leupis or convicts??
A friend has offered me some freebies. Not sure if I want either of these but tempted to go with the fry. I've been offered convict fry or adult leupis. No experience at all with cichlids other than the 20 kribs he gave me last time around. I've seen pics of the leupis but have no idea other than what they look like. Considering our experience level the leupis might be a bit much.
Are they?? Not prepared to go buy another tank for them either.
How long would it take to grow out the fry??
You tell me what to do :)

Hi What set up and fish do you have ?
leleupi will be fine depending on what other fish you have and weather you have hard water.
I wouldn't go for the convicts as they breed like stink and you would be trying to find homes for them.
You will find it hard for any LFS to take them off you too.

Thank you Celtic Fins.
I have 3 empty tanks right now ranging in size from about 35 gallon to 48 gallon. Okay, since I would probably have trouble disposing of the convicts I won't take them.
Would have raised them just for the learning experience but really don't want to keep these.

Your welcome.
Convicts will breed at a very early age.
Your better off with out them.
I may get a pair myself but that is only because I want the fry as feeders.
