    Default Betta has a bulge

    Hey all,

My betta has been developing a bulge on his belly that has me a little nervous. It sits right under his pectoral fins and has a white color to it. He's been acting normal, eating fine and what not, but has this bump.

I attached a thumbnail for your viewing pleasure.

    Any ideas?

Try feeding him blanched peas to rule out constipation.
Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

I never see any pooping, so I thought it might be constipation. I also figured I might just not be seeing it or what not. What can I do for future feedings to prevent this?

And, Forgive my ignorance, but how does one blanch peas?

Edit: got the info from that link. Great link! Thanks much! It definitely sounds like my bettas condtion.

Just fast him for a while and it should clear right up.
