Having to move how to transport tank?
I am moving back to my county about a hour away. I just got my tank cycled but don't have any fish in it. Will be moving over the next few weeks. My question is should I just take the tank down and start over once I get moved or is there a easy way to transport it and keep most of the cycle still going? I know 90% of the water will need to be drained in order to even move it.
Its a 30gal and have been adding a bit of ammonia each day to keep it going. Was gonna get fish till I found out we was gonna be moving back.

Take the filter media and put it in a container of tank water for the transit so it doesn't dry out. Everything else can be dismantled and reassembled. The water in the tank is not important.

yeah since you don't have fish i'd just keep the filter wet and leave it at that.
If you had fish i'd suggest keeping at least 30% of the tank water to ad back once you get to the destination.
Also if you don't want to take the gravel and everything out you can move the tank to a thick piece of plywood and just have a few people carry that. That way you won't have to worry about it breaking out the bottom glass.

k thx for all the info. The plywood is a good idea. I actually have a few big pieces laying around. So the key is to keep the filter wet with the tank water?

Dump all the gravel in a clean bucket and add some tank water.Dump your filter in there too.Place a lid on it.Clean and reassemble your tank as soon as possible.Add water and test.Add ammonia if needed.
Moving is great with no fish!

Yeah, cause if it dries out the bacteria dies and your are back at the beginning. If you can't keep the gravel wet, put as much as you can in another container with tank water. I would get the aquarium filled back up and filter running that same day if possible.
