  1. Default What type of fish/eel is this? [Pic]

    It was caught at Barnet marine park in burnaby, british columbia
    I found it while at low tide while i was collecting ragworms for a science study

    I apologise....I missed it. Have you tried Googling that lake for native fish species? That's why I asked where you caught it.

    The head certainly looks like a fish, but the body doesn't lol. Worst case scenario....if nobody here can help you, maybe the next time you visit that lake you can talk to one of the local fisherman and ask them. OR.....if that lake has staff (rangers etc) maybe you can just give them a call and describe the fish to them and see if they recognise what it is.

    Definitely looks like a prickleback, though it's hard to tell what specific one since I can't see the fish up close. The markings and face seem a little off for a snake though. Very cool fish though
